ELDEC Electronics Company was working on the initial stain gauge technology in the early 1970s working with Boeing and NASA.

They developed the first strain gauge Load Cell and developed an on-board Weighing System for Log Trucks in the Northwest. Upon successful developing a rugged weighing system that could hold up under that harsh application and environment, they incorporated the Load Cell System into a Low Height Platform set that could be set flush in a shallow concrete pit or on the surface with fabricated ramps. The brand name became "LODEC SCALES" Marketed throughout the United States and eventually Worldwide To Large LTL Motor Carriers and State Weight Enforcement Agencies.

ELDEC/LODEC contacted Nicholson Construction to design a quality low-cost foundation for the flush installed Scale and due to our reputation for quality and efficiency they offered substantial extended warrantee if the customer used Nicholson Construction for installing the pit a scale system throughout the United States.

Our attention to quality efficient, low-cost installation with special attention to minimal disruption of the normal operation of the LTL Truck Terminal or Distribution Center created our Reputation that we take special pride in, and our national Accounts have full confidence in our business relationship over the past 30 years.

Dick Nicholson was asked to come onboard with LODEC in 1986 to manage the platform scale division and worked in that capacity until the business sold in 1994. The platform scale division was very successful during my Tenure there with product improvement and growth in all market segments.

The Business sold and Dick Nicholson decided to return to his original endeavor and started Precision Loads Axle Scale working with the largest LTL Carriers in the country, fabricating our Scale systems in Chehalis Washington. In 2006 we joined with KG Fabrication and Design known for their quality and workmanship in Moore Oklahoma.
